In the southwest corner of downtown Seattle is the neighborhood of Pioneer Square. Originally the heart of the city, the neighborhood became the center for “low entertainment” in the mid 1800s, tolerating things that the higher members of society would never publicly engage in (use your imagination). Today this part of town is known more for it’s art, culture, and nightlife. This 3 1/4” solid smooth maple honors that diversity by highlighting the contrast between the light and dark heartwood and sapwood of the maple tree.
